Thirty-two members of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, Tampa Bay section, gathered for a
Docent lead tour of the Imagine Museum, in Saint Petersburg, Florida on Sunday, February 17, 2019. This new museum in Saint Petersburg is dedicated to Contemporary American Studio glass. The museum is home to more than 500 pieces of American Studio Glass and represents over 55 years of studio glass from 55 artists who were and are integral to the development of this medium as a fine art form. Our members arrived on time and we split into 2 groups of 16. Two Docents led us through the exhibits on the first floor. On the 2nd floor, we could tour at our own pace. Kimonos and Kimono art along with other exhibits fill this area. The Imagine Museum has changing special exhibits throughout the museum, so a return visit is always in order. The museum gift shop on the 1st floor offers one of a kind artworks created by artists in their collection for purchase. For lunch, we met at Fresco’s Waterfront Bistro in St.Pete. I would like to personally thank Peter Ceruzzi of Fresco’s for helping out one of our members after lunch. He also arranged for us to have a luncheon for 32 in peak snowbird season at a very busy restaurant in downtown. Fresco’s is open for lunch and dinner. Brunch on Sundays.
