By Dave Hutchinson: Photos by Dave Hutchinson: Our July event at The Henry Plant Museum was a big hit with the approximately 30 Tampa Bay Section members and guests who attended. This intriguingmuseum is in the original elegant Tampa Bay Hotel on the University of Tampa campus in downtown Tampa. The historic hotel was opened by railroad magnate Henry B. Plant in 1891 and houses many of its original artifacts. A National Historic Landmark, the hotel was opulent and attracted the  upper crust of society. We were fortunate to be able to hire Michael Norton as our guide who was in character as Rough Rider and President Teddy Roosevelt. Thanks to the museum’s curator Todd Edwards for leading us to this talented guy. Michael was an expert in Tampa history and lore. He even spent time touring us around other parts of the University after our museum tour. This was a great event, but there are more.
