On Sunday, March 19th, our group of 26 members and guests braved the somewhat chilly weather for a glass bottom boat ride at Silver Springs Park in the Ocala area. Steve, our captain and guide did an excellent job of showing us wildlife along the crystal clear river. We saw birds...limpkins, anhingas, herons. We saw serveral manatees, one with a baby. And, we also saw turtles, alligators, everyone's old Florida favorite. Our tour was 1 1/2 hours. The boat was covered, but open on the sides for easy viewing. Following the boat tour our group had an early dinner at Brooklyn's Backyard, a nice casual restaurant nearby. Our server, Amy, didn't miss a beat. Food and service was top notch. This was a terrific event. We appreciate everyone's prompness (most of us had horrendous traffic on the way). We hope to see you at our future events.
